Fara Affifi, our Noisy People co-ordinator says:

‘The Noisy People Project, which encompasses The Noisy Women and The Noisy People’s Improvising Orchestra is about a concept called Collective Virtuosity in which all people involved in a performance are part of working collectively to make something greater than the individual talents involved.

We are making inclusion societally acceptable by having creative events that everyone can enjoy. The steering group of The Noisy Women AKA “The Noisies” includes people with physical disabilities, mental ill health, neurodiversity such as dyslexia, dyspraxia ADHD and autism of various ages from 20 something to 75 and with an international flavour.

The project actively promotes inclusion for groups that would normally be marginalised such as people with mental health conditions, women and non binary people, people from non UK cultures, people with learning differences or neurodiversity and refugees.

Our performances provide a supportive platform to help all performers and assistants feel valued and empowered. All people involved have individual positions of responsibility. The people who help make the tea and collect the money are as important as the performers’.
