We are committed to following through with direct action on housing when no other agency appears to want to help.
This has led us to develop a number of small scale housing initiatives including:
New build (two separate one bedroomed flats)
Private rented accommodation (one two bedroomed cottage)
Hospitality House (one four bedroomed house)
We also broker supported living arrangements where possible with existing Housing Associations and Registered Social Landlords (RSL)
In 2007 we bega work 'DIGS', an exciting development to create shared houses for students who have a learning diffculty and wish to live near their chosen college. The first house opened in December 2008 and became fully independent in July 2009.
We also take leisure seriously - to put it another way, we believe it can be just as life changing to share good times together as more traditional service approaches can be.
This has led us to supporting the annual Stortford Music Festival and the setting up of the 'Cluzion Club', a late night live music and dining venue.
We regularly hold get togethers at our base in the Old Monastery, bringing all sorts of people together for meals, take-aways, good music and great company. There's nothing like a cold beer and good friends when life starts to get you down. |
